Volunteer Centre Shetland

Volunteer Centre Shetland is a member of Volunteer Centre Network Scotland and has been operating as a “Jobcentre” for volunteers and for organisations seeking volunteers in Shetland since 2001.  We came under the umbrella of Shetland Council of Social Service in April 2004

The core aims of Volunteer Centre Shetland are to:

• Increase the number of people involved in volunteering
• Broaden the range of people volunteering
• Bring about more positive attitudes to volunteering
• Get volunteering better recognised at policy level
• Develop the capacity of volunteer involving agencies and volunteers
• Be a well run, influential and effective organisation, striving for continuous improvement.
