It's simple. Volunteer!

Many businesses and organisations throughout Shetland are seeking volunteers to help run their services.   Everyone has something to offer and you are no exception.  The only qualifications you need to start volunteering are:

  • An open mind
  • A little time
  • Commitment
  • A desire to share and learn

How you make volunteering more challenging is up to you.  You do voluntary work freely and from choice, so you control the time you contribute and what you do.

Through volunteering to help others you will enjoy:

  • Personal achievement & satisfaction
  • Developing new skills
  • Gaining work experience
  • Passing on your talents and abilities to people who want to learn from you
  • Knowing you have made a positive difference to the lives of local people
  • Meeting new people and making new friends
  • Having fun!

And of course, volunteering may even lead to paid employment or a career change.

Add something to your life!

Talk to us - you're under no obligation - and find out what we can offer you.  You have nothing to lose and you'll never know what you've missed if you don't!
